Prior to the development of neuroimaging research, we had to guess what was happening inside the ‘black box’, as John Watson and B.F. Skinner referred to the brain.
Functional neuroimaging research has now given us the ‘what’, ‘when’ and ‘how’ of the brain’s functions, not just the ‘where’.
Now that we know how chronic non readers’ brains are primed to learn to read, we can teach them that way!
